2021.09.26 19:57 HahaXDDxD What does it mean when girl holds a conversation?
Hello. Sorry for my bad english I write it quickly. I met a girl at my school. She is really pretty so I was looking at her every time I met her. She noticed it and she was returning the eye contact. We got an eye contact whenever we met like half year.
After all I decided to talk to her. I waited for her on bus station. I prepared some good arguments for her like how does she like this school or what teachers has she. When I talked to her she noticed that after few moments I lost words. But then she started asking me. She was asking me on kinda weird questions like what teacher have I on economy etc. (Totally irrelevant questions) so I know that she just wanted to hold the conversation. What does it mean? Does it mean that she is interested in me aswell or that she does not want to be mean on me?

I would like to have a virtual WiFi speaker on my PC that I can add to my home speaker group so that I can include my computer as an audio output when playing music on my Home speaker group but still hear the other sounds that my computer is making. Does something like this exist?

2021.09.26 19:57 stisa79 What does it mean to be nuanced?
I have noticed that "nuanced member" has become a popular term mostly used to describe someone who follows the prophet only when they agree. At least that seems to me to be the gist of it. I don't think that is an accurate use of the term. All human beings are nuanced. Yes, some more than others, but that has little to do with your faith or willingness to follow the prophet, in my opinion.
There are many aspects of the church and the gospel that take a lot of thought and consideration. Some are willing to engage in that more than others. My decision to follow the prophet even when it is difficult is an informed decision based on deep reflection. To claim that someone's personal view always trumps the prophet is not by default more "nuanced" than to claim that we can trust the prophet and he will not lead us astray. In both cases, the person can be an active agent in a process leading to that conclusion. I say can, because there certainly are many people, both believers and non-believers, who oversimplify and think in black and white terms where it is not merited.
We are all probably guilty of outsourcing deep thinking to others at times and let that influence our choices and views. But letting a secular society do that instead of the church does not make you nuanced. In my opinion, it is a misleading term used to claim the intellectual high ground. Having faith does not make someone an unnuanced simpleton.

Not sure whether I should spend time on this I farm a lot and just vendor all the green items.
Was thinking maybe I would be better off to level a new char just to be able to disenchant all lvl 70 green items.

2021.09.26 19:56 mamaghoulx Old stretched ears
Ello all - so I once had stretched ears but have since stopped stretching and have had regular earrings in my ears for about 10 years. They’ve never closed up and I’m currently sitting at a 4G right now.
I recently decided to start stretching again and have gotten single glass to stretch but the 4G just slipped right in. I used stretching balm on the site before putting them in and showered beforehand. No sign of infection, redness, nothing. Im thinking I can go ahead and stretch to a 2G here soon since they’ve been sitting at the 4G for a while.
Few questions: 1. Does everyone think it would be okay to go ahead and stretch right away to 2G or should I wait the standard months time? 2. Do you take your plugs out when you shower and soak the plugs in anything while you shower and then once you’re out, put stretching balm on ears and jewelry and put them in or can I leave the plugs in while I shower and just clean them while plugs are in with saline once I’m out of the shower?
Thanks in advance!

2021.09.26 19:56 captainjjb84 Star Wars Fans Need to Learn to "Kill" The Author
Not literally kill the author but rather Death of the Author.
For those unaware, Death of the Author is a type of literary criticism that argues we should interpret a text one's own way rather than using any kind of Authorial Intent/ the authors biographical information/ etc, to draw a meaning.
To interpret a text by way of what the author says/ implies is a "limited viewpoint," so to speak.
Now that's a grossly over simplified version of what it means but Linday Ellis has made a fantastic video on the subject. I recommend watching that for those interested in this on a deeper level.
On a recent starwars post, someone posted that fantastic rant by Freddie Prince Jr. talking about "Power levels" in Star Wars and how Balance works. Great rant for those who haven't seen it.
And of course nearly half the comments were people spamming George Lucas quotes trying to disprove what he was saying.
What are Star Wars fans if not appealing to authority every ten seconds...
Ignoring for a moment that Lucas changes his mind on the flip of the dime so often to the point where you could make a compelling argument that he really has no idea what he's doing and has been making it up as he goes along... the whole thing just made we want to shout out to the heavens and back "Kill the author you crumb bums!!"
Star Wars and "authorship" have a bit of a weird relationship though when you splice it down. Yes Lucas is the creator of Star Wars but he doesn't exactly have a hand in "everything" that has been made. He certainly made the PT and every thing you see and here on screen is something he approves of.
He had nothing to do with the EU so you couldn't exactly say he's the "author" of that. He has nothing to do with Star Wars since he sold it... yet so many try to put everything through his very contradictory words time and time again.
Lucas however did paint to broad strokes that are followed to varying degrees. To what extent they are followed is up to interpretation. Are his strokes followed in Knights of the Old Republic? Lego Star Wars? Chewie and the Porgs?
The OT is where things get slightly complicated. He is the sole writer and director of ANH so that's pretty straight forward. He paid for ESB and ROTJ with his own money but did not direct, he's also not the sole screenwrite story creditor either.
ESB production is facinating though. Ss by many account, Irvine Kershner was kinda doing his own thing to the point where that "annoyed" Lucas. Han Solo's famous "I Know" line, Lucas hated that and tried to have it removed. But that just makes things all the more complicated, that was an improv from Harrison Ford.
So who's the author in that equation? Ford because he came up with it? Kershner because he loved it and wanted to use it? Lucas because he paid for the whole thing?
I sure as hell couldn't answer that question.
ROTJ, he was on set pretty much everyday, micromanaging the entire thing Kevin Feige style. Sure he didn't direct it but you can see who's making the big decisions.
TFA and TROS have JJ's fingerprints all over them. You can point to literally anything in them and say "Just like that time in Felicity/ Star Trek/ Super 8."
RJ on the other hand, based on one interview I read years back, seems to be someone who supports Death of the Author. He's even gone so far to argue that how he views TLJ is based on his reading on his reading of his own script.
That might sounds a bit strange considering he wrote the movie and every creative decision is meant to elicit a certain meaning/ theme/ idea but you'd be surprised to hear various filmmakers/ writers who welcome interpretations they didn't even think of.
While promoting The Grey (2012) Joe Caranhan said he read a review that argued "Every character in the movie represents an aspect of John Ottway (Liam Neeson), his struggles and mental state."
He didn't dismiss the take but rather praised to review for interpreting it that way.
Though as Ellis states in her video, killing the author is also a really hard thing to do, especially when they are still alive and accessible.
I can google any interview with George Lucas to find out the reason behind any and all creative choice in his movies.
I can't exactly do the same with William Shakespeare on Hamlet now can I? I can only get so much information before the trail runs cold altogether.
Perhaps I'm just tired on the constant appealing to authority (lord knows I'm guilty of it) to discredit any and all reading but sometimes you have to give your two cents on something then call it a day. How much longer can we keep putting things through the lens of "This 70+ year old man said X so therefore Y!"
