Would a underdrive pully do much or be worth it for a na build. I have 302 manifold, jlt Sieres 2 and long tube headers waiting to be installed just asking more experienced people if it would be worth the extra $ to slap a smaller pully on. Specifically a 2013 gen 1 coyote

2022.01.19 05:33 MineCraftFanAtic69 Undecided on role to take

I'm currently undecided between which role to take. I originally went to uni specifically to become a developer, but I think a lot of my indecision stems from my lack of confidence in a software engineering role. I graduated with a 3 year IT degree majoring in software development from UniSA, so not a standard Comp Sci degree. I had a very high GPA, but there was not much math in the coursework, only one dedicated course that covered boolean algebra, discrete mathematics, probability, etc. As a result, my mathematical background is not that strong, and I feel like going into a defence role will involve a lot of or at least some mathematics which I may struggle with?
Role 1: Currently interning in the 'Middleware' department with the option to turn into a full time employee at the end of this month. It's in a very large company that probably won't be going anywhere anytime soon, so I would at least have a decent amount of job security. Don't really know how to describe this role other than it's more of a software maintenance position. Work a lot with Oracle products like WebLogic, Tuxedo, then some BizTalk in various other contracts. The products are pretty old, and there's a fair bit of red tape involved in implementing changes. But it's fairly enjoyable, and suits my lifestyle as it is nearly completely remote.
Salary for this would be starting at $71k + super, with on-call adding another ~$10k approx (this was said verbally so no guarantee of course).
Role 2: Graduate software engineer at a defence company. Job titled included Java/Python/C++ and the Qt framework. I would very much prefer Java/Python over C++, and would like to avoid C++ if possible, but I don't know how realistic that is in the realm of defence? There were no technical questions in the interview, the most I gathered is that they work with the DST for research and I guess we implement what they give us? They also asked if I had experience working with hardware, which I have zero, but they said it's fine and they'll train me up for that.
This is an 18-month grad program at $65k + super. I assume that lasts for 18 months, no idea what the salary would be after that. This role would be on-site with very few exceptions. This is also contingent on me getting an NV1 clearance which I have submitted and is being reviewed. No real reason to fail it but I guess there's a slim chance?
I can't tell if this lack of confidence is just imposter syndrome rearing its head and I'm expecting the work to be way harder than it actually might be, or if I may really not excel in the role. I'm totally fine with web dev-esque programming, I flew through a lot of the Odin Project projects before I got bored, and my algorithmic thinking is only okay at best if I'm being realistic, I have 83 easy and 8 medium solved on Leetcode for reference, but I don't grind it (maybe I should be?). The hardest data structures I've worked with were AVL trees for a uni assignment, DFS/BFS/Dijkstra's with graphs. Other than that, I've made some very basic CRUD apps with Spring and JS/Node in my own time, but no fully-fledged app/big personal project to speak of, just a lot of little ones.
The main thing I'm torn on is just whether I basically crash and burn in the software engineering role, and have a hard time finding employment after. The first job realistically has less of a future, but it would be very stable, low stress, decent-ish pay. The second one I view more of a high-risk high reward play, I have not truly proven my software engineering skills outside of small personal projects and uni projects. But I'm sure that if I do well, the future would be better. I definitely don't really care about working for Google/Atlassian and making $150k+ a year. I'd be perfectly content in the $100-$120k range within 5ish years of experience in Adelaide.
Anyway, just kind of rambling, but I have to make a decision this week and would love some advice, especially for people who have worked as a software engineer in defence before.

2022.01.19 05:33 Ancione Aternative a D&D 5e o precedenti

A me puacce il fantasy, meno l'epico.

2022.01.19 05:33 throw_it_away_now___ 25 [M4F] SoCal/Online - Good looking musician type searching for new friends

Hey there. Been feeling a bit lonely lately so I’d thought I’d take a shot and see where it lands. A bit about me:
My passion is music! I love producing my own stuff and play guitabass/keys. I’m also big into gaming, Tarkov has been taking up a lot of my free time lately. 420 friendly as well. physically I’m 6ft, with long brown hair and a lean/fit build. Dark sense of humor. Enjoy watching [adult swim] and good movies.
Ideally looking for something longer term, but if you’re looking for a quick chat I’m down for that too. I’ve been told I’m a great listener :) We can chat about whatever you’d like, and maybe eventually voice/video chat if we vibe well enough. Hit me up with a little about you and let’s talk.
